Learn how to start and finish your novel
A page at a time.
Join E.J. Kitchens, author of over 20 published works – novels, short stories, and non-fiction – for a one-day writing workshop that will encourage and equip you to start and finish that novel you’ve been dreaming of for years. Plus learn from local authors during an author panel and a free “coffee hour with authors.”
Elizabeth, a former university lab instructor and community college adjunct instructor, combines her love of writing with experience teaching the how-to of her topics to help writers both keep writing and write well. With 15 years of writing behind her – with its many battles with writer’s block, literary agent rejections, and unfinished manuscripts – she knows how difficult it can be to keep writing. Despite her struggles, she’s completed and published 12 novels, over 10 shorter works, and a non-fiction book.
In this workshop, she draws on her experience as an author and teacher, as well as her experience as a professional copyeditor and writing mentor, to provide encouragement and techniques to help you write a novel, start to finish.

E.J. Kitchens loves tales of romance, adventure, and happily-ever-afters and strives to write such tales herself. According to her parents, she inherited both the “family curse” of writing and the love of teaching. As a self-published author and a professional editor, she loves helping people improve their craft, brainstorm their stories, and enter the publishing world with confidence. When she’s not thinking about her stories and the amazing places she wants to visit, she’s editing others’ works, teaching about writing, doing whatever it takes to pay the bills, taking photos, or talking apologetics with friends. She is the author of several fantasy, fairytale, and steampunk stories, including The Magic Collectors series and The Star Clock Chronicles, and the nonfiction Pen to Print: A Beginner’s Guide to Self-Publishing. Her books have been book club reads, high school summer reading choice, and a subscription book box featured book.
