As a writer it’s important I have a large vocabulary, so I’m reading through the dictionary and then posting interesting words here for accountability. Definitions come from Webster’s New World Dictionary of American English, Third College Edition, 1988.
Advocatus diaboli A fancy way of saying Devil’s Advocate.
Adynamia (noun) “lack of vital force as a result of illness; debility”. This is from a combination of the Greek words a (without) and dynamis (power), so it should be easy to remember–a body without its usual power.
Adytum (noun) The innermost room in a certain old temples, a sanctum.
